Halloween is fast approaching, and with it comes the perfect time to reflect on the nightmares that your current systems and processes are causing you. We’ve put together a list of 13 horrors that have haunted our clients before their NetSuite implementation. These monsters were born simply because our clients were housing their data in multiple systems and stitched them together with manual processes. Take a look at these all too common horror stories:

  1. Disappearing Data
Siloed systems can cause data to mysteriously disappear or change as you input your information from system to system. It could be from simple human error, to something much more sinister – the results are spine chilling nonetheless!
  2. Dangers of the Unknown
Separate systems makes it difficult to gather actionable analytics and reports. Without historical data, short of having a crystal ball, it is difficult to make informed decisions to drive profit and growth.
  3. Mindless Manual Data Entry
Your employees might as well be zombies as they complete hours of time consuming data entry from system to system to ensure that all of your manual processes occur without a hitch.
  4. Unnerving Black Hole of Information
Where does your data go? Why are you recording it? What do you do with it? What happens to it? How do I make sense of it? Without a single, integrated system to aggregate all of your company data, it can be hard to understand or report on the data you already have available.
  5. Supply Chain Dismemberment
Pulling information from multiple systems can make working with suppliers, vendors, partners, distributors, contract manufacturers, retailers, and other key stakeholders a nightmare to work with.
  6. Dreadful Reporting
You’re kept in the dark on your company operations, it is difficult to pull useful reports and make data-driven decisions about your company’s future – which can easily give your key stakeholders goosebumps!
  7. The Demise of Productivity
See productivity plummet as your company tries to handle a higher order volume of business. Your employees will feel as though they are being buried alive as they try to fulfill more orders with disparate systems.
  8. Brewing Resentment about Training
Employees have to be trained on every system you have, which can make your employees feel like they are trapped in a disjointed maze of systems and processes.

  9. Phantom Inventory
Without an inventory management system that is integrated with your accounting and order management systems, your inventory seems to disappear and reappear without notice.
  10. Frankenstein Processes
Disjointed systems require manual processes to stitch your systems in place and jolts of energy from your employees to try to keep your organization in the realm of the living.
  11. Wailing Customers
Your customers are negatively impacted when you cannot gather the information they want in a timely manner. They will continue to shriek and howl long after you have provided them with what they need because your data is not real-time, accurate, and communicated to them as quickly as they expect.
  12. Money Vanishing at an Astonishing Rate
Because you are paying for multiple systems at once, you see your money mysteriously disappearing at a rapid pace and you have to wonder – am I really getting the most out of my investment?
  13. You’ve reached a dead end and there’s nowhere to run!
The most frightening thing of all is that your company is being backed into a corner by your own systems and processes. Without a single, integrated system, your company does not have a scalable solution in place that is long term and sustainable. This causes roadblocks and significantly slows down your business growth.
